Get To Work

Updated: Jan 17, 2021

Here’s a personal story I thought might encourage someone.

So every weekend I try to check things off my to-do list regarding my purpose. One particular weekend was quite busy. That Saturday I wasn't able to do much because I had a few functions I had to attend and I was quite tired by the end of the day. Sunday, wasn't any better. My wife had a wedding expo (she sources fabrics, primarily for brides- @5YardFabrics on IG) to present at so I was on Daddy-duty all afternoon after church. Anyway, I finally had a minute Sunday night to write this lengthy email that was on my list. I decided to use my tablet (see where this is going?), typed it all up in word document, copied with the intention of pasting into an email & then a call came in.

By the time I got back to the tablet, my tablet’s battery had died; an hour just went down the drain! Know what I did? I shut off, prayed, asked God to renew my mind and strength for the following day, put together a morning list (4 items) & went to bed. The next morning I was up by 4 am and was able to check off everything off my list but 1. I was pleased.

Here's the point, sometimes things wouldn't go as planned. Sometimes you'll fail. Sometimes you'll forget to save your work, call your mom back, or drop the ball altogether. Regardless of what happens, get yourself back up and do work. Feeling sorry for yourself wouldn't get anything done. The only feeling worth having is the satisfaction of getting it done, & that wouldn't happen if you're spending time wallowing in pity.

Get to work in 2019, let God guide you and excel!

Best wishes,

-L.B.
