Honesty & Justice

We are reminded in Psalm 89:14 that Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne and that love and faithfulness go before Him. In Exodus 23, God’s people - the Israelites, were admonished to live honestly with one another, holding firm to the pillar of justice.

They were discouraged from showing favoritism to anyone, either rich (for bribe purposes, for instance) or poor (out of pity). Justice trumps any form of alignment.

In this day and age, where racial injustice and gender biases, and chauvinism is pervasive, the council on justice, regardless of one’s personal alignment, is critical. But, again, as David points out in Psalm 89:14, justice is a foundation of God’s throne, not Lana’s, not Tyrone’s, not Karen’s, but God’s throne. So when justice is to be served, it must come from the perspective of our Lord and Savior, independent of media influences, etc. It may be easier said than done, but to live as God intends is to live under such guidelines.

As always, the person of The Holy Spirit is who can help us align our hearts with God’s ways. We rarely have it within us, for man's heart is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). Ask The Holy Spirit to help you walk in Honesty & Justice today and always.

Best wishes,

L.B.
